What motivated you to install a parking lift at home?
Space saving. I enjoyed interacting with the parking lifts installed by Rogary in The Archive Automotive in Gardens and felt a lift would solve my desire for more covered parking at home.
How did you decide on a single-post parking lift?
I have a two-door double garage which is wide enough to accommodate a two or even a four-post parking lift. It was a usability and an aesthetic decision to use the strong single post parking lift. With the post positioned next to the wall, it allows easy and unencumbered access to the vehicle driver’s side door.
Is the parking lift easy to use?
Yes, I use my vehicle parked on the ground level as a weekday driver, and the top position Ferarri is lowered most weekends. It takes no longer than a minute to lower or lift the car into position. The space saving allowed me to have all three of my vehicles undercover, protecting them from the outside elements.
Did you experience any challenges using the single-post parking lift?
Yes, the alignment and position of the vehicle on the parking lift when reversing was challenging at first and took time to finesse. However, I am confident that my partner or a friend would be able to safely park the vehicle and operate the lift if I was not present.
Are there any design elements of the product or installation you’d improve on?
No, I am satisfied with the design. The installation went smoothly too. I did call in an electrician to install a power point from which the parking lift is controlled. This was an easy fix, allowing the parking lift to be located perfectly in the garage.
Were there any elements of the parking solution which were unexpected?
The choice between options was overwhelming. Knowing what you want is one thing, knowing how long it will take to arrive and be installed is another consideration.
